They hold the non-executive directors to account for the performance of the board, and support the trust’s connection with the communities it serves.
We have 29 governors in total, which includes 17 public governors, six appointed governors from local stakeholders, and six staff governors.

Council of governors meetings
Our council of governors meetings are open to all foundation trust members, staff, and the public, and will be held on the ground floor of St James' Court, Cannon Street, Bristol, BS1 3LH, unless otherwise stated below.
Our upcoming meetings will be on:
- Tuesday 7 July 2026, 10am to 12.30pm
- Tuesday 17 November 2026, 10am to 12.30pm
- Thursday 18 February 2027, 10am to 12.30pm
