Why become a member?
Anyone aged 7 or over who lives in England or Wales can become a member.
As a member, you can share your views about how we deliver care in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
You can get involved as much or as little as you like.
As a member, you can:
- receive a regular newsletter
- get invitations to events
- take part in activities to improve services
- vote in governor elections or stand as a governor
- join the Youth Involvement Group (ages 11 to 21)
Membership is free and you can leave at any time.

Staff at Bristol NHS Foundation Trust are automatically already members, unless they choose to opt out by emailing foundationtrust@uhbw.nhs.uk

By law, we must keep a public register of members. This includes your name and membership type (for example, public member). It does not include your address or other personal details.

Already a member? Contact your governor
Public members elect our Council of Governors to represent their interests.
Governors want to hear your feedback, ideas and suggestions about our services.

Youth Involvement Group
Our Youth Involvement Group is for young people aged 11 to 21 and a member.
It is a chance to:
- share your ideas
- help improve services for children and young people
- get involved in a friendly and supportive group
- become a Youth Involvement Group governor
