Our extensive research facilities support commercial and non-commercial studies across adult, paediatric and specialist services.
Clinical Research Centre
The purpose-built Clinical Research Centre at Southmead Hospital provides a GxP (life sciences good practice guidelines)-compliant environment. It offers treatment rooms, phlebotomy, sample processing and storage, IMP preparation, sponsor monitoring facilities and a newly installed DXA scanner.
NIHR Bristol Clinical Research Facility
The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Bristol Clinical Research Facility (CRF) supports experimental medicine, vaccine and early-phase studies. A successful NIHR capital bid will expand overnight study facilities and laboratory capability for peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) processing and cryopreservation.
NIHR Biomedical Research Centre Bristol
The NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Bristol is a partnership with the University of Bristol that provides the infrastructure to conduct translational research bridging the gap between discovery science and definitive evaluation. Their research in five themes focuses on developing and evaluating new treatments, identifying how diseases are caused and how they progress, developing innovative research methods and analysing large data sets.
