Hospital Managing Director of the City and Weston Hospital Operating Unit of Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, Stuart Walker, said:
“Local fire and emergency services responded to a small, isolated fire incident in the Bristol Royal Infirmary this morning.
“The fire was safely extinguished and all patients and staff are safe. Thank you to Avon Fire & Rescue service, Avon & Somerset Police and Bristol NHS Foundation Trust colleagues for their swift response.
“The hospital is open to patients and people with appointments should attend as planned.”
